Which one is correct..? Which site can you trust..?
In this post, I would like to share with you my pick of top 10 best breastfeeding websites, which are run or managed by lactation consultant or professional doctors.
Whenever I met problem and need quick solution, they are among my first stop points to find readily available answer.
This is my number one favorite website about breastfeeding, managed by Kelly Bonyata, IBCLC.
You will find most of breastfeeding-related topics here, milk supply issues, feeding pain, night time nursing, weaning, fussy evening, and many more! Each article is very detailed and full of practical tips.
What I especially love from this website is that almost all the content is supported by real evidence from research and scientific studies, complete with the links to related websites.
Love love love this website so much!
This website is run by Diana West, IBCLC, the author of A Breastfeeding Mother’s Guide for Making More Milk.
This site is geared for moms looking for resources regarding milk supply issues. If you found yourself constantly worrying whether ‘you got enough milk for your baby’, this site is for you!
Though no longer updated (just my guess), the current content is very comprehensive and worth to read.
This website is owned and managed by Anne Smith IBCLC.
Other than the basic breastfeeding tips and how to solve common breastfeeding problems, I love how Anne also shares her personal views in current issues, such as breastfeeding in public (which is quite a hot topic right now), and many more.
She also has a Q and A section, so if you have a specific question which you haven’t found the answer to it yet, ask her!
This site is managed by Nancy Mohrbacher, IBCLC, the author of several popular breastfeeding books, including Breastfeeding Made Simple – 7 Natural Laws for Nursing Mothers . She also launched a great apps called Breastfeeding Solutions that is very handy to navigate you to solve your breastfeeding problem.
Her site is fresh with regular new contents, and tackling a lot of breastfeeding misconceptions, which is really refreshing.
She also shares quite a few infographics that are free to download and share with others.
This website is famous with its breastfeeding videos, especially those related to correct and incorrect latch.
As you know, the baby latch position determines the effectiveness of milk removal from breast.
Reading explanation or looking at static image are simply not enough to understand how a good latch is. Watch the videos in this site to gain better understanding.
Actually, this website is not specific to breastfeeding, but more to parenting in general.
However, it’s breastfeeding section is very comprehensive and worth the read. You will find a lot of great tips in here.
Dr Sears has been known with his attachment parenting philosophy, and his approach in solving breastfeeding problem also follows the same philosophy.
This is the official website of La Leche League International which provides support for breastfeeding mothers.

This website is a huge directory of lactation consultants. If you need help and need to find local lactation consultant, this is where you should go. You can simply enter your postal code and the system will list down the nearest lactation consultant from your location.
Initially I thought it is only for USA-based lactation consultants. It turns out that I’m wrong! It even lists down lactation consultants in Singapore. Very cool!
This is an online database for drugs and medications a nursing mother may be exposed to.
For every medicine searched, you will get the following information:
- its chemical structure
- how much of drug content will be present in breast milk
- is there any adverse effect on the baby (with reference to scientific studies)
- suggested therapeutic alternatives to those medications
Oh, it also got the app version. Very handy to have in your mobile gadget.
